Seminole Tribe of Florida; rebuilding the Mirage as a guitar tower
Last verified · May 18, 2026

Hard Rock International is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida (acquired the brand in 2007 for $965M). In December 2022, Hard Rock acquired the operations of the Mirage Las Vegas from MGM Resorts for $1.075B; VICI Properties simultaneously took the underlying real estate in a sale-leaseback (also $1.075B).

Hard Rock closed the Mirage on July 17, 2024, demolished the volcano (a 35-year Strip landmark), and is constructing a 42-story guitar-shaped tower on the site. The final structural beam was installed May 1, 2026; opening is targeted Q4 2027. The integrated property — Hard Rock Las Vegas — will be the chain's flagship, leveraging the Seminole's Hard Rock Café and music-themed casino-resort brand.
