Emin Gün Sirer is a Turkish-American computer scientist, the co-founder and CEO of Ava Labs (the team behind the Avalanche blockchain), and a former associate professor of computer science at Cornell University. He is one of the most-cited academic voices on Bitcoin and blockchain consensus (his Selfish Mining paper, co-authored with Ittay Eyal in 2013, is foundational to the field).
