Terms of use
The short, honest version.
By using the coin flip at flip.1n2.org or 1n2.org/coin-flip, you agree to the following. If you don't, don't play.
- Legal age. You must be of legal age to enter into a binding agreement and to place a wager in the jurisdiction you are using this service from. If you aren't, stop now.
- Your laws are your problem. You are responsible for knowing and complying with your local laws on gambling, games of chance, cryptocurrency, and anything else that might apply. The operator makes no representation that this service is legal where you are. If it isn't, don't use it.
- Research / demo product. This is an experimental service provided as-is, without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. It may have bugs. It may lose funds. Use at your own risk.
- Pause rights. The operator may pause, restrict, or shut down flips at any time, for any reason or no reason, including for maintenance, suspected exploitation, legal concerns, or because the operator felt like it. Funds already in escrow will be returned to their depositors on a best-effort basis.
- House cut. The operator takes a cut of settled flips. The default is 3%, and the exact value used for any given flip is published on the Nostr settlement record for that flip. See /trust for details.
- No KYC. No identity verification is performed. No personal data is collected beyond what's required to settle a flip (Lightning Address, optional Nostr pubkey, commit hashes). If that worries you, don't play.
- No key recovery. If you lose access to a Nostr key or a Lightning wallet associated with a flip, we cannot recover it. There is no password reset. There is no support line. There is no forgotten-key flow.
- Stuck funds. If Lightning routing fails on payout, funds remain in escrow and can be claimed at
/claimwith a different Lightning Address. Beyond that, support for stuck funds is best-effort. The operator will try, but nothing is guaranteed. - No warranty, no liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator and contributors are not liable for any loss, damages, or consequences arising from use of this service, including loss of sats, loss of data, Lightning routing failures, escrow failures, or acts of god.
- Disputes. Disputes about the math of a flip can be verified independently from the signed Nostr settlement record. Disputes about anything else should be raised by email before taking any other action.
- Contact. thecuriobot@gmail.com. Include the flip ID and your npub if you have one.
- Changes. These terms may be updated. The "Last updated" date below is the version in force. If a change materially affects users with funds in flight, it will not apply retroactively to those flips.
