I read the sequel to the watchman doomsday clock, and as interesting as it was, it got most interesting towards the end, spoilers ahead a fascinating short story showing the crossover between the world of the watchmen and the world of DC Comics, specifically Superman Adrian felt having fresh off his 911 esque unite the world against aliens, a disaster which resulted In the death of people, and was not successful in uniting the world. Flees his world just as it's about to head into nuclear war. He goes to another world, the world of Superman, and finds that Dr Manhattan is already here, studying this world and attempting to discover why the multiverse seems to be behaving the way it does, actually just creating copies of one universe rather than creating millions of other tangential universes. In the end, through an incredible amount of pages, reading the graphic novel, large version rather than the independent individual comic books. So it seems like a very large comic book altogether. Dr Manhattan begins to learn that the universe, or the universes, seem to be centered entirely around Superman, and that the universe, no matter what, is saving every different version of Superman, creating multiple universes to support multiple supermen, just like in the Loki Marvel series and the Deadpool and Wolverine movie, we learned that the time variance authority has a similar hero theory, where Wolverine is the anchor of his universe. And if Wolverine is lost, the universe is lost in the same way the doomsday clock shows Superman to be this anchor. Spoiler alert, major spoilers in the end, and this is a powerful and emotional ending. Dr Manhattan learns hope and other emotions from Superman. He learns that even his powers to see all of the future can be clouded, and the things that he does can react in things that he might not approve or want his meddling and support of eight plan his murder of Rorschach, attempting to keep the delusion alive and allow fate to recreate the world based upon his alien invasion theory, shows that Dr Manhattan himself is not is fallible. Can make mistakes, but what Clark and what Superman teaches him is the power of hope. Manhattan returns to his universe. He takes the child from the maniac mime and the insane other woman that looked like a mom. He takes their child, he raises their child in the way that he's seen Superman raised, and he learns that even when he took away everything from Superman, Superman was still there. And in the same way, he gives everything to this child, teaching him about the future and attempting to make in his way what would become a properly well rounded Superman to defend his world, the world of the watchman. And in the final shot of the comic book, they show you the ultimate symbol of hope, dressed in a perfect three piece suit with a blue vest and bright blue eyes. The boy says, John, calls me Clark. He's got a blue circle on his head showing that he's a son of Dr Manhattan, and he's got the eyes and the fresh look of young Clark Kent, a merger of Manhattan and Superman to save the world and all powerful beings such as Superman or Dr Manhattan, imbued and empowered with Clark Kent and humanity's ever defining quality, hope. There is hope because there is Superman. Surprisingly beautiful story from not the original creators of the Watchmen, Alan Moore, not involved so kind of puppeteering and taking his characters, but in the end, a positive outcome, similar to Superman for the quest for peace, where it all comes down to Superman and his qualities that he's learned from humanity that are our Savior, especially powerful in these dark times when the line towards the end of the film showing Vate standing there says that these people, they don't believe in helping other people, they don't believe in anything and that they are about to win. And the book really shows how close we come to destruction, only to be saved by this new combination of Superman and Dr Manhattan. Surprisingly good, powerful comic book takes a while to get there, but once it does, it delivers a powerful conclusion. I suggest doomsday clock by DC Comics.
