I The next movie I watched on the plane was ilio, a fantastic Pixar movie with great animation. The plot's a little drifty and, of course, sad as ilio has, spoiler alert, lost his parents, putting him in a category with Bambi and others. He's trying to be raised by his I don't know older sister, but would much rather leave the planet and hang out with space aliens. Eventually, he does, convinces them he's the ambassador from Earth. But then things go wrong when an external, powerful force invades. Seems like a story I've seen dozens of times before, kind of boring and slow. The story could be done a lot faster. Could be more straightforward, but the animation, especially the aliens and the space and the spaceships, is all really great. So visually fantastic, story, a little weak ends up all right, kind of like a dick's Disney movie, but not the greatest. Sad, because the visuals are really fantastic, the skies, the warps, the general space, Enos, the aliens, visually Great. Story, poor, which is surprising considering how much they work on story and storyboards at Pixar, you really kind of expect something better. But of course, I guess it's Disney Pixar now, and maybe they were in a hurry, I had probably again, about three out of five stars for ilio. You.
