Not the best book about the Trump nightmare Presidency, but she did provide an insiders account of what it was like to be there. While it does sound like she had a version of Stockholm syndrome that slowly wore of as her time in Trumpworld dragged on, it never really seems to dawn on her that her position is undefendable. In a quest for personal game and to serve an unworthy mentor she worked against the goals she claimed to serve and through her example they were able to hide some of what they were longer than if she had not served them. Like the main character of Vonnegut’s Mother Night she was more valuable to the other side. Does publishing her story and claiming the President has dementia make up for some of the things she did? Yes, but the damage is done and some of it in the Supreme Court may never be undone. I weep for the future. I hope we have one.
