I read machines will make better choices than humans. This morning. It's a very brief pamphlet by Douglas Copeland containing two or three pieces that I felt like I'd already read recently. And a short interview, which was pretty revealing, as Copeland didn't seem to see the threat of big data. And now 10 years later, we can see the big data arrayed against us in the form of the artificial so called artificial intelligence, which allows itself to create actual text actual images, and soon actual video, mostly by using some of this big data and the general idea of combined learning. It was good to read the story about Copeland's idea of Todd, the universal personal assistant, as we continue to creep closer into that of course, it's been exposed in movies like her, and I recently saw the movie jacksie where a slightly more humorous take was put upon the all powerful personal assistant, but it is interesting to see what a machine would do to improve your life and what it would do to ruin it. jacksie didn't go as far as Copeland's Todd idea, which spoiler alert, and you see Todd growing into a, like a multiversal application like a whole series of Todd's and other Todd's and all the Todd's talking together and so forth. A pretty impressive imagination and only a few pages a great short pamphlet, if you're looking for something fun to read, but not very long indeed.
