As a spectacular triumph. It's a tragedy that it took me this long to get to the foundation series. What an incredibly thoughtful and poignant look at the collapse of Empire and the possibilities in that collapse. While written in the 70s It couldn't be more modern, true and important than today, when the very American empire that it's likely based on is in the throes of collapse. Thoughtful, quick moving, and heavily lated with political content. The Foundation series as well worth reading despite the movie The TV show that you could watch just as easily. The book itself contains nothing but distilled, important, essential political ideas and thought that more people should be exposed to if they were interested and I suppose that's part of the problem.
