Now, after seeing the over directed but still entertaining Michael Jordan shoe movie air, directed by Ben Affleck. I became interested in Nike and desire to know more. The book Shoe Dog, by Phil Knight told me everything I needed to know. Nike is an amazing and revolutionary company founded by someone who believed in helping athletes and aiding them in running and achieving their goals. Phil Knight's partnership with Bowman gives him access to not only a inspirational coach, but an incredible shoe and technology designer who invents incredible new shoe designs, allowing for athletes to achieve more than ever thought possible before. I still don't wear Nikes because I think they're not wide enough for my feet. But I am impressed with the company that Phil Knight built and the way in which he built it. Additional stories involve his interactions with famous athletes, his complex business dealings in Japan, his love of Japanese culture and travel, which is one of the things that led him to come back home and start a company, an incredible journey. Truly an excellent business book that I'd wanted to read for a long time but had been putting off but from the moment you pick it up, you won't put it down. It's a great work. I suggest Shoe Dog by Phil Knight.
