continuing my worse title, better PKD book theory, here's a cold war stand off between the Russians and the US where both are employing drug addled mediums to summon up weapons designs that turn out to be more useful once they've been plowshared. Everything goes well until some nasty aliens come up and the weapons designs are still shooting blanks.
